Pharmacist

We are looking for a Pharmacist based in Abu Dhabi.

Key Responsibilities

• Dispense prescription and over-the-counter medications accurately in accordance with physician prescriptions and UAE healthcare regulations.
• Review prescriptions for accuracy, dosage, drug interactions, contraindications, and patient safety.
• Provide professional counselling to patients on medication usage, dosage, side effects, storage, and potential interactions.
• Monitor patient medication therapy and provide recommendations to optimise treatment outcomes.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to ensure safe and effective pharmaceutical care.
• Maintain accurate pharmacy records, prescription documentation, and patient medication histories.
• Manage inventory levels, ensuring adequate stock availability while monitoring medication expiry dates and storage conditions.
• Order pharmaceutical products and coordinate with suppliers to maintain stock levels.
• Ensure compliance with Department of Health (DOH) Abu Dhabi regulations, pharmacy legislation, and company policies.
• Implement and maintain medication safety protocols and quality assurance procedures.
• Handle controlled medications in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Respond to patient enquiries and provide healthcare advice on minor ailments, wellness products, and preventative healthcare.
• Participate in health promotion campaigns, patient education initiatives, and continuous professional development activities.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and compliant pharmacy environment.

Qualifications

·      Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from a recognised institution.

·      Valid Department of Health (DOH) Abu Dhabi Pharmacist Licence or DOH Eligibility Letter (or eligibility to obtain one).

·      Minimum 2 years of experience as a licensed Pharmacist, preferably within a hospital, clinic, or retail pharmacy.

·      Strong knowledge of pharmacology, medication management, and pharmaceutical regulations.

·      Excellent understanding of medication safety, drug interactions, and patient counselling.

·      Experience using pharmacy management systems and electronic medical records (EMR).

·      Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

·      Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-centred approach.

·      Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

·      High level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.

·      Fluent in English; Arabic is an advantage.

·      Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays, as required.
