Teaching Assistant

We are looking for a Teaching Assistant based in Abu Dhabi.

 

Key Responsibilities

·      Support the classroom teacher in delivering engaging lessons and daily learning activities.

·      Assist individual students and small groups with classwork, literacy, numeracy, and other learning activities.

·      Help prepare classroom resources, teaching materials, displays, and educational equipment.

·      Supervise students during classroom activities, break times, school events, and educational trips as required.

·      Promote a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment for all students.

·      Support students with additional learning needs by implementing teacher-directed support strategies.

·      Encourage positive behaviour and assist with classroom management in line with school policies.

·      Observe and monitor student progress, providing feedback to teachers where appropriate.

·      Assist with preparing and organising assessments, assignments, and classroom activities.

·      Maintain accurate records and assist with student attendance and administrative tasks.

·      Support students' personal, social, and emotional wellbeing.

·      Communicate professionally with teachers, parents, and other members of the school community.

·      Ensure compliance with safeguarding, child protection, health and safety, and school policies.

·      Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development programmes.

·      Perform additional classroom and administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications

·      Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Psychology, or a related field.

·      Minimum 1-2 years of experience working as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, or in a similar educational role.

·      Previous experience within an international or UAE school environment is highly desirable.

·      Good understanding of child development and effective classroom support practices.

·      Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents.

·      Patient, caring, and enthusiastic with a genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.

·      Strong organisational and time management skills.

·      Ability to work collaboratively within a multicultural team environment.

·      Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and educational technology platforms.

·      Excellent written and spoken English; Arabic is an advantage.

·      Knowledge of ADEK regulations and safeguarding practices is desirable.

·      Current first aid certification is an advantage.
