Teaching Assistant

We are looking for an Teaching Assistant based in Qatar.

 

Key Responsibilities

·      Support teachers in planning and delivering engaging classroom lessons and daily learning activities.

·      Provide one-to-one and small-group support to students, reinforcing learning objectives and classroom instruction.

·      Assist with preparing teaching materials, classroom displays, learning resources, and educational equipment.

·      Supervise students during classroom activities, break times, assemblies, school trips, and extracurricular activities.

·      Encourage positive behaviour and support classroom management in line with school policies.

·      Assist students with additional learning needs by implementing teacher-directed learning and support strategies.

·      Observe and monitor student progress, behaviour, and wellbeing, providing feedback to teachers when appropriate.

·      Help maintain accurate student records, attendance registers, and classroom documentation.

·      Support students' personal, social, emotional, and academic development.

·      Promote a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment for all students.

·      Communicate professionally with teachers, parents, and members of the wider school community.

·      Ensure compliance with safeguarding, child protection, health and safety, and school policies.

·      Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and continuous professional development activities.

·      Perform additional classroom and administrative duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

·      Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Psychology, or a related field.

·      Minimum 1–2 years of experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, or in a similar educational support role.

·      Previous experience within an international or Qatar-based school is highly desirable.

·      Good understanding of child development and effective classroom support techniques.

·      Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents.

·      Patient, caring, and enthusiastic with a genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.

·      Strong organisational and time management skills.

·      Ability to work collaboratively within a multicultural educational environment.

·      Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and educational technology platforms.

·      Excellent written and spoken English; Arabic is an advantage.

·      Knowledge of Qatar Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MOEHE) regulations and safeguarding practices is desirable.

·      First Aid certification is an advantage.
