Accountant

We are looking for a Accountant based in Sharjah.

 

Key Responsibilities

·      Manage daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.

·      Record, verify, and reconcile financial transactions accurately and in a timely manner.

·      Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.

·      Process supplier invoices, customer payments, employee expense claims, and journal entries.

·      Prepare and submit VAT returns in accordance with UAE Federal Tax Authority (FTA) regulations.

·      Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial planning activities.

·      Monitor financial transactions and identify discrepancies, ensuring prompt investigation and resolution.

·      Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure compliance with company policies and internal financial controls.

·      Support internal and external audits by preparing financial schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.

·      Analyse financial data and provide recommendations to improve financial performance and operational efficiency.

·      Liaise with banks, auditors, government authorities, suppliers, and external stakeholders when required.

·      Ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), UAE financial regulations, and corporate policies.

·      Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.

·      Perform additional accounting and finance duties as assigned.

Qualifications

·      Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

·      Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CMA, ACA, or CA is preferred.

·      Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, preferably within the UAE.

·      Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and UAE VAT regulations.

·      Experience preparing financial statements, reconciliations, budgets, and management reports.

·      Proficiency in accounting software such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, QuickBooks, Zoho Books, Tally, or other ERP systems.

·      Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and financial reporting functions.

·      Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving abilities.

·      Excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.

·      Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.

·      Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

·      Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

·      Knowledge of IFRS and UAE corporate finance regulations is highly desirable.

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant to join our finance team in Sharjah. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, preparing accurate financial reports, ensuring compliance with UAE financial regulations, and supporting the organisation's financial objectives. Working closely with the Finance Manager and cross-functional teams, you will oversee financial transactions, reconcile accounts, support budgeting and forecasting activities, and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records. The ideal candidate is highly organised, proactive, and committed to maintaining the highest standards of financial accuracy and compliance.
