Accountant

We are looking for an Accountant based in Qatar.

 

Key Responsibilities

·      Manage daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.

·      Record, verify, and reconcile financial transactions accurately and in a timely manner.

·      Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.

·      Process supplier invoices, customer payments, employee expense claims, and journal entries.

·      Prepare and submit VAT returns and ensure compliance with Qatar's tax regulations where applicable.

·      Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial planning activities.

·      Monitor financial transactions, identify discrepancies, and ensure prompt resolution.

·      Maintain accurate accounting records while ensuring compliance with company policies and internal financial controls.

·      Support internal and external audits by preparing financial schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.

·      Analyse financial data and provide recommendations to improve financial performance and operational efficiency.

·      Liaise with banks, auditors, government authorities, suppliers, and external stakeholders when required.

·      Ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Qatari financial regulations, and company policies.

·      Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.

·      Perform additional accounting and finance duties as assigned.

Qualifications

·      Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

·      Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CMA, ACA, or CA is preferred.

·      Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, preferably within Qatar or the GCC.

·      Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and Qatari tax regulations.

·      Experience preparing financial statements, reconciliations, budgets, and management reports.

·      Proficiency in accounting software such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, QuickBooks, Tally, Zoho Books, or other ERP systems.

·      Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and financial reporting functions.

·      Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving abilities.

·      Excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.

·      Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.

·      Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

·      Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

·      Knowledge of IFRS and GCC financial regulations is highly desirable.

·      Fluent in English; Arabic is an advantage.

 

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant to join our finance team in Doha, Qatar. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, preparing accurate financial reports, ensuring compliance with Qatari financial regulations, and supporting the organisation's financial performance. Working closely with the Finance Manager and cross-functional teams, you will oversee financial transactions, reconcile accounts, assist with budgeting and forecasting, and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
